The creator of numerology is the ancient mathematician and philosopher Pythagoras. He believed, that the universe follows a certain mathematical pattern and everything in it can be expressed in numbers, therefore they are also the key to it. Other theories point to the Babylonians and the ancient Egyptians as creators of the occult meaning of numbers.
One of the most important things in numerology is to know how to calculate your personal number or the so called number of life. To do this, you need to add up the digits of your birth date and reduce them to a single number from 1 to 9.
For example, those born on March 13th, 1989 have a personal number of 8. How is it calculated? Add 13+3+1989 and you get the number 2015. Then we add its individual digits, in this case - 2+0+1+5 and you get 8.
But what happens if, for example, you were born on May 12th, 1978. When you first add the numbers, you get 12+5+1978, which is equal to 1995. However, when you add 1+9+9+5, you get the number 24.
Then you have to reduce the number once more by adding 2+4. This way you get 6, which is also the personal number of all those born on May 12th, 1978. When the resulting number is 10 or 20, etc., add the digits again 1+0 or 2+0, in order to get 1 or 2 respectively.
