Stephen Hawking to be Buried by Isaac Newton`s Grave

Stephen Hawking

Stephen Hawking's ashes are to be buried in Westminster Abbey. Ergo, one of the greatest minds of our time will find eternal rest near Isaac Newton and Charles Darwin.

The funeral proper of the world-famous British physicist will be held in Cambridge on March 31st. It's where Stephen Hawking lived and lectured for over 50 years.

An Abbey representative has announced that Stephen Hawking's ashes are to be buried at the Abbey later this year. A special litany is planned for the occasion.

The legendary physicist's ashes are to be placed by Isaac Newton's grave. Reverend John Hall, dean of Westminster, has announced that it's suitably fitting for the remains of the cosmologist to lie alongside those of other distinguished scientists. Isaac Newton was buried at the Abbey in 1727, as was Charles Darwin in 1882.

The world-renowned British physicist Stephen Hawking passed away last week at the age of 76. He was one of the most gifted physicists, despite suffering from the debilitating disease amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
