Quality and serene sleep is among the main requirements for good health and if it's difficult for you to fall asleep at night or you don't feel rested in the morning, read on about which tips to follow.

According to a scientific team headed by Dr. Mohamed Boubekri, to sleep well it's important that you spend enough time out in the open. Sunlight and fresh air are decisive factors when it comes to a peaceful, good night's sleep.

In their study they analyzed the sleep habits of 49 office workers. 22 of them worked in a building with large windows and the rest - in offices with small or no windows at all.

Results showed that individuals who spent more time in natural light had a more peaceful sleep, sleeping not only longer but better.

Work areas with large windows allowed those employees to sleep on average 46 min. more, while rarely suffering from insomnia or other sleep disorders, states prof. Boubekri.

In conclusion, sunlight appears to be the main requirement for better quality sleep.

The reason for this lies in the way our internal biological clock functions. Sunlight suppresses production of the hormone melatonin which our body releases when we're sleepy. Therefore, we have to try to get more light during the day and less at night.

Fresh air has the same effect on the body. That is why many experts advise patients suffering from insomnia to take about an hour walk outside before going to bed.
