In North America the Aztecs had special rooms for dreams. The elders of the tribe interpreted dreams, which were received during rituals and in accordance with various claims. The language of the Indians, Shaman, means one who has dreams. Those living around the Amazon say that anyone can dream a little voodoo.
Australian aborigines have preserved history in the form of legends from before 40, 000 years. In these ancient times they called it "trance time" (English dream time). The Bible mentions this about 121 times and 89 of dreaming whilst being asleep.
Dreams in the Bible are often conduits for God's will. Numbers in the book as Chapter 12 says: "Hear now my words. If there is a prophet among you, I the Lord will become known by his vision, the dream would talk".
