Different roads

My friend was driving me on a scooter and trying to help me pack for a trip but I felt as I was forgetting everything due to lack of space.

As we drove my boyfriend passed us in his truck and I was overloaded with alcohol. My friend and I never met up with everyone because they took the long way so we went somewhere completely different! What could this mean?
