Mystery Surrounding Enigmatic `Oumuamua Solved

The mysterious interstellar object, known as ʻOumuamua, which astronomers discovered at the end of last year, has turned out to be a comet. Scientists have reached this conclusion after arguing about the origins of the strange formation for some time.

ʻOumuamua was first spotted by a highly advanced telescope in Hawaii in October of 2017, report news agencies. Astronomers found that the object has quite a remarkable elongated shape, similar to a cigar. They also posit that ʻOumuamua has come from another solar system.

ʻOumuamua is considered the 1st interstellar object that we've seen to have come to our solar system from another. It was discovered on October 19 by Robert Weryk.

Researchers hypothesize that it had been wandering the Milky Way for hundreds of millions of years. They note that other strange interstellar objects have most likely entered our galactic neighborhood before but due to lack of technology we have not been able to spot those.

Research of ʻOumuamua could lead us to a better understanding of objects' formation in distant galaxies.
