Archaeologists have discovered apart of the mummy which implies that it belongs to Queen Sesheshet. The Queen ruled the Egyptian empire 4, 300 years ago. The body of Pharaoh was found recently in the open Pyramid in Sahara, reported the famous historian and Egyptologist Dr. Zahi Hawass.
Inscription with the name is not found, but according to Dr. Hawass everything indicates that this is precisely Sesheshet. She is the mother of Pharaoh Teti, who founded the sixth dynasty of the ancient kingdom. Historians suggest that Sesheshet is one of the few women pharaohs that ruled ancient Egypt for 11 years.
Such an ancient mummy is extremely rare, usually the scientists find the remains of pharaohs who lived to 1, 800 BC.
The archaeologists were needed for 5 hours to lift the lid of the sarcophagus. They found inside the skull, leg bones and pelvis, wrapped in cloth, beside pottery and crocheted gold thimbles. According to Dr Hawass, an antiquity tomb of Queen Sesheshet was robbed by the Marauders, who have stolen almost all valuables from the tombs.
