Snakes are included in the category of reptiles. There are around 2900 snake species that are scattered in all parts of the globe and around 600 of them are poisonous.
Venomous snakes have very special hollow teeth through which they deliver the venom. The bite of the poisonous snakes very quickly affects the lungs, heart, central nervous system and muscle cells.
There are three types of venom such as neurotoxic, hemotoxic and myotoxic. Some of the most venomous snakes are Taipan, the Krait, King cobra, viper, Black Mamba, Yellow Snake, western brown snake, Tiger snake and banded sea snake.
• Taipan (Oxyuranus scutellatus): This is one of the most venomous and deadly snakes in the world. It has three main varieties, Papuan Taipan (oxyuranus s. canni), Western or Inland Taipan (oxyuranus microlepidotus) and frequent and Coastal Taipan (oxyuranus scutellatus).
The Taipan is located in Australia and New Guinea. Inland Taipan is more poisonous than the other two species. It is olive or brown in color with a black head and black markings on the head, and attended the green or dry parts of the fields. Coastal Taipan is dark or light brown with lighter sides and bottom pattern and slight edge flakes. It is about 6 feet long and can be found in open wooded areas and forests.
• Krait: This highly venomous snake can be found in Asia. Its color is black or blue-black with narrow white transverse stripes and narrow head. The average length of the edge is about 90 cm. It is more active at night than during the day and is 15 times more poisonous than the ordinary cobra. Its venom is a potent neurotoxin that causes a respiratory deficiency.
• King Cobra: This is the longest venomous snake in the world. Its average length is 3.5 meters but can reach 5.5. It is brown or olive green in color, with transverse stripes. King cobra is common in southern China, Thailand, the Philippines, southern India and Malaysian Peninsula. Its venom is neurotoxic.
• Viper: The most commonly found in India, Sri Lanka, Malaysian Peninsula, southern China, Sumatra, Java, Borneo and surrounding islands. It has a light brown body with three rows of black or brown irregular spots, having white or yellow lines. Its average length is about 1 meter. It is responsible for a much higher mortality among men, compared to other snakes. While attacking, it makes a hiss and strikes with such speed that the victim has little chance to escape.
• Black mamba: This is the most formidable African snake. It lives in open woodlands and savannas. Brown or black in color, it is very poisonous and aggressive. Its average length is about 4.3 meters and is known as the fastest land snake in the world, it speed reaches 16-19 km / h.
• Tiger snake: It is dark olive or brown with a yellow belly and transverse strips. Its rays can be found in Tasmania and Victoria. Its average length is 1.2 - 1.8 meters. This is one of the most venomous snakes in Australia but can also be found in New Guinea, Tasmania and the Bass Islands. Its venom is neurotoxic and affects the central nervous system. The Tiger snake produces higher levels of venom, on average between 35 mg to 180mg.
• Western brown snake (Pseudonaja nuchalis): Can be found in lawns, forests and deserts and is a native of Australia. There is a black head and black neck. Color may be black or light brown with dark transverse bands alternating with lighter. It is about 1.5 meters long and its venom is neurotoxic.
