The Doom of the Advanced Arctic Civilization 13 000 Years Ago

Icy

A few years ago, former British journalist and current writer, Graham Hancock, laid out his hypothesis that there existed a highly advanced civilization in the Arctic more than 13 000 years ago. The author claimed that its end came after a meteor collision nearly wiped out life on Earth.

The hypothesis was met with a lot of criticism and outright ridicule by the scientific community. But, Hancock did not give up on his claim and recently announced that there is new evidence supporting it, reports Metro newspaper.

The former journalist explains that even though a few years ago he only had assumptions about the existence of a great Arctic civilization, now he's completely sure because of the proof he has found.

According to Hancock, the ancients were not completely destroyed by the fallen meteor and still managed to pass on some of their knowledge in the fields of mathematics and astronomy to the civilizations to come.

The author describes his hypothesis in great detail in the now best-selling book Fingerprints of the Gods. He states that modern humanity does not know of the existence of its ancient ancestors since the comet that decimated the advanced civilization without leaving a trace fell into the ice of the Arctic.

The biggest critic of Hancock is American geologist Paul Heinrich, who says that instead of finding an archaeological mystery, his theses have created one.

Putting up with the criticism, Hancock will publish his book Magicians of the Gods in the next few months. In it he will reveal the concrete evidence that he's found in the last 20 years while looking for real evidence of the existence of the Arctic civilization.

"In 1995 I wrote a book in which I only underlined the traces that this lost civilization left behind. At that time I was lacking the decisive evidence. In my latest work I now have it. Now a few scientists do wonder whether a comet crashed in the Arctic 12 880 years ago, without leaving a crater, " states Hancock.
