The ancient temple complex is located on the ground and has a surface area of around 20 to 30 meters and is equipped with walls.

Greek archaeologists have discovered ruins of an ancient temple of Apollo in the Aegean Sea, reports the Athens newspaper Neftemboriki. According to the publication, the unique archaeological find was made on the uninhabited island of Despotiko. It is located near the larger island of Antiparos.

From the sanctuary of Apollo until today it has been preserved only for the basics and fundamentals of its columns. Moreover, experts found fragments of an ancient male statue. According to archaeologists, such imagery is used in the construction of buildings in a much later age than that in which the temple was built.

Also found was a well preserved mosaic, part of the plumbing system and marble and pottery.
