The angelic alphabet can also often be seen under the name "Enochian alphabet". It was written and popularized by John Dee and Edward Kelley at the end of the 16th century. The 2 men who were famously known as seers claimed that the mysterious alphabet was the basis of the language that angels speak.
The angelic language, holy language or divine language, was the language which Adam and Eve spoke in Heaven. The first humans and the angels spoke it and sent their prayers to God through it, and he would answer.
When Adam and Eve were thrown out of Heaven they almost completely forgot the angelic language which they spoke to God and the angels with, which they used to name all things in the world.
Instead of pure angelic, they began speaking Paleo-Hebrew, which all people on Earth would later speak. The language was lost during construction of the Tower of Babel.
The last person to speak the tongue was Enoch, which is also why the alphabet carries his name. John Dee and Edward Kelley claimed that the alphabet was revealed to them whilst they were reading the Book of Enoch. From the Middle Ages to today, the angelic alphabet is an inseparable part of Enochian magic.
In 1581, John Dee wrote in his personal diaries that he received a vision according to which God sent benign angels to make direct contact with the prophets to reveal God's will.
In the following year, Dee met with the famous seer Edward Kelley and with his aid managed to contact the angels and write down their message.
For many long months Kelley peered, not into a crystal ball like the one most seers have, but into a multifaceted trapezohedron, in order to clearly see each of the 21 symbols of the alphabet.
Afterwards the seer received the 1st scroll of texts, 49 total
in number, which are compiled in the book "Liber Loagaeth" (the Speech of God). Later he created a second book of texts, written in the angelic language, containing 48 poetic verses called "Angelic Keys".
The Angelic Keys, known also as the Keys of Enoch, are used to unlock the Portals of wisdom and understanding.
According to some, the Enochian language is the work of Satan. It is used in making Satanic materials. This language, which has its own syntax and grammar phonetics, is older even than Sanskrit and is completely denied by the Church.
