The last letter of notorious serial killer Jack the Ripper has been sold at an auction in Great Britain. It contains the final words of the mysterious murderer, whose identity may never be uncovered.

The letter went to a British collector who won with a bid of 25 000 euros. With the commission fees, the sum ballooned to 34 000 euros, reports the British Telegraph.

The letter, written in black ink, was sent to Ealing police station in London. It arrived at the station on November 29, 1888 - just 11 days before he murdered his final victim - 25-year-old Mary Kelly.

The Irish woman is believed to have been Jack the Ripper's 5th victim, based on how she met her death.

The letter, in fact a small postcard, reads: "Beware there is two women I want here they are bastards. And I mean to have them my knife is still in good order it is a students knife and I hope you liked the half of kidney. I am Jack the Ripper."

Initially, the postcard measuring 2 3/4″ (7 cm) x 4 3/4″ (12 cm), was valued at between 600-900 British pounds.

The postcard with its warning belonged to a police officer from Scotland Yard, who had received it as a retirement gift in 1966. For decades the family had kept the eerie souvenir, ultimately deciding to put it up for auction.
